“Absolute gem at the foot of Mournes and beside the sea!”  10th March 2014

This beautifully situated cottage, at the foot of the Mourne Mountains and yet a stones throw for the sea is a gem of a place to stay. It has two good double bedrooms and all the mod cons.... and takes dogs!!!! Situated just out of the town but within easy walking distance means it is quiet and peaceful and has great views of the sea and the bay too. Spotlessly clean, with every thing you could possibly need (and more) in a self catering cottage. Anne the host and owner is genuinely lovely, helpful and professional. The visitors book testifies to scores of terrific visits and reviews. We will return, and in the near future. The town itself was perfect too... cocktails in the Slieve Donard Hotel, seaweed baths in the town spa, amazing walks on coastal paths, up the granite walkway up the mountain and beaches, lovely meals in town and fish and chips on the promenade, terrific bird life... and Otters!

“Cosy, comfy and perfect location.”  1st March 2014

We stayed here with our dog for a long weekend. Had a lovely time. The cottage is so warm and cosy. Anne is such a lovely person. She has thought of everything inside the cottage. There's nothing you need to bring. It's lovely to have somewhere so close to town and also to be able to walk up to the Slieve right behind you. We will definitely be back to stay here. We really love Newcastle and go there regularly on walking holidays. Would highly recommend this cottage.

"Lovely cottage with stunning sea views"   1st December 2013

A lovely cottage with stunning sea views. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay only wish it could have been longer. The cottage was warm and cosy. I loved the log fire. It was a great base for walking as the back garden leads out onto the Granite trail and the Mourne mountains. Very close to Newcastle, so I was able to enjoy the Slieve Donard spa, walks at Murlough bay and Tollymore forest park. The cottage was really well equipped, beautifully decorated and Anne was really warm and welcoming. I will definitely be booking another trip to Widow's Row cottage again soon.

Thanks for the lovely review Suzanne. Hope you and Lily are keeping well. Have a lovely Christmas and great New Year. Take care. Anne

"Perfect get away!"   29th October 2013

We booked this property for a family trip to Newcastle Co Down. We were not disappointed. The cottage is ideally located, a short walk from the pubs/places to eat and the beach front. We have visited Newcastle three times now and find the hospitality and friendliness of the people amazing. Anne who owns the property is no exception, she is a lovely lady who made us feel welcome straight away. The cottage itself is lovely, it sleeps four people in two double rooms and has everything you need, it has been well looked after and the decor is lovely, it is spotless and so cosy, the views are also amazing, I would definitely recommend this perfect get away.

"Super stay"     25th September 2013

The cottage was perfect. It was cosy, homely, clean and nicely decorated. Everything you need was there, with little toiletries, kitchen cupboard essentials and coal for the open fire as an added extra. Anne who welcomed us was lovely, so friendly and jolly and welcoming. Only stayed for 2 nights, it came to the morning we had to go home and we didn't want to leave! The cottage has gorgeous views and is a nice 15 ish minute walk into the town centre. The garden to the back of the cottage is also lovely if you have some nice weather to sit in. The heating is also super fast, gets toasty very quick on colder evenings!
Would definitely recommend this property, and Anne! Will hopefully be returning again in the future.

"Great cottage with fabulous views in a lovely little town"

Really comfy, incredibly well-equipped and spotlessly clean cottage with a gorgeous sea view from the front and just a short stroll into the centre of the lovely town of Newcastle. We were warm and cozy despite the weather outside. There are some lovely walks nearby and all of the locals seemed really friendly. Anne was a wonderful host, incredibly welcoming and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
